Hey friends, it’s come to our attention that as much as we try and deny…the fact of the matter is that we’re quickly ⏰ tick-tock’ing ⏰ our way into cold and flu season 🤒🤧🤒 AND watching 🦠Covid-19🦠 cases increase across Canada.
HUGE ugh! But facts.
And while the arrival of fall and the fast approaching winter takes us one teeny-tiny step closer to seeing the A** END of 2020…
…it also is the perfect time to do a mid-pandemic check in! Because as much as our personal and social lives have been upended this year…
So too have our marketing/business lives. Certainly, here at C+P, we “Stopped. Dropped. And Rolled.” Back in March/April, we completely changed everything about our content calendars, and those of our clients for whom we’re in charge of.
We shared our Top Five recommendations for dealing with this unexpected, MAJOR crisis, and we’ll list them again here:
🔥 Ditch the inane automation (check every funnel. Especially the paid funnels.)
🔥 Reassess all your calls to action.
🔥 Provide updates on your web properties – whether an individual website or large portals, it’s worth identifying high traffic pages and putting a short crisis comms update on it. Or make a whole hub or landing page. You decide.
🔥 Consider un-gating key content (ebooks, videos, free courses). Measure by traffic and see if you get a spike. People hate giving emails. Now more than ever.
🔥 Audit your content. A few hours of updates and tweaks can render many of your finer pieces usable to your audience in this time.
Pause. Assess. Then communicate.
It’s Time to Pause, Assess, then Communicate All Over Again!
Well, fast forward 7 months or so, and we’re suddenly in what would, in normal times, be a traditional fourth quarter, filled with pie-in-the-sky dream-making and aim-for-the-stars goal-reaching, for 2121.
Covid’s the door. We’re the cat. 😬🥴😬
So, we thought it was the perfect time to bring our friend and marketer extraordinaire, Martin Waxman, back to the 4 AM Report!Martin was first here in March, when the whole Covid-19 thing had just launched us all into crazy-town!
Basically, he’s the perfect person to chat with about what’s happened – and what’s next!
Not surprisingly, our conversation contains quite a bit about the unavoidable DUMPSTER FIRE that is our neighbour to the south at the moment.
It behooves us all to keep track of what’s going on socio-politically outside our own borders, because results DO impact Canadian markets and Canadian businesses.
Suffice it to say, there’s a TON of learning in this one, and if you’re starting to feel that existential dread of a looming winter, a new round of Covid-19 shutdowns, an upcoming election to the south that could blow all we know about what’s (LOL) “normal” right outta the water, PLUS trying to plan your business goals for 2021 – we really think you should pop over and have a listen to the entire podcast episode.
We’re super excited to have Martin back! You will be too.
