EP181 How to define your value in a recession with Charlene Norman

September 21, 2022 by cpdigital

Welcome back to the 4am Report. In today’s episode I want us to focus on the idea of value! Particularly as small businesses, in a time when there’s scary headlines all around us of recession, doom, and gloom we need to look deep inwards and find our value.

To speak to us about defining true value, my guest today is Charlene Norman, Founder of Bullet Proof Your Business Now. Charlene is an advisor to business owners and founders focussed on growing and scaling. She has a deep affinity for women! This year, Charlene will be launching her second podcast, which is called “Exploring Compassionate Capitalism”. I cannot wait 👏 The world needs a lot more women podcasters. And having 2 podcasts!!!

Hold my Chai while I applaud 👏👏👏🙌

I invited Charlene to share this DEEPLY MEDITATIVE exercise that will take you 20 minutes. It’s an exercise that I believe every woman and non-binary individual should find some time for – whether you’re a business owner or talent at a company. And all male allies are welcome!!

💫 Charlene set ups the idea of “value” and how it is defined (Spoiler alert: Money does not enter into your value and your self esteem, but it is often the way in which value is defined 🙅‍♀️)

💫 Charlene then walks us through a 15-minute micro-workshop in which you will list actual monetary values against factors. The result will surprise you!

So grab a piece of paper, and if you don’t like writing, then call up a page on your computer, on which you can type. This exercise will show you just how freaking valuable you really are. Especially for those times when you’re questioning it. And trust me, when a recession rolls around, and fear mongers rear their ugly heads, you’ll be glad you did.
You can thank us later 💪
Listen up! Chop chop!! Your value won’t define itself 🙀

If you like what you’re hearing here in The 4am Report podcast, Can you do us a solid and drop me a 5-star review. As tiny but mighty podcasters, we can use all the help we get. Thank you!✌️

EP180 How to set your podcast host up for success

September 7, 2022 by cpdigital

Hosting a podcast is not easy.

Showing up and doing this on the regular over and over again, making sure that you bring the right vibe to represent your organization to multiple stakeholders is a hard job. And it’s probably not always appreciated as much as it should be.

As an organization, you need to make sure that a podcast host receives the assets, the training and the input that they need to keep doing their job. Even at the earliest stages, it’s an excellent idea to equip your host with the things that they need. And then make sure that they’re properly trained to do the job and continue to do it with a great deal of follow through and accountability to your business goals.

There are four main areas to cover in order to make sure that your host is well trained, and fully in the know about what the strategy is.

1) Key messaging
2) The ‘why’ of podcasting
3) Ownership of the business goals
4) On-demand brainstorming

EP179 How to choose a podcast host

August 24, 2022 by cpdigital

Every show needs a host! Whether it’s a show on TV, or a radio show or other podcasts that you follow, you’ll find that the one thing that tends to draw people in and keep them engaged in the piece of content is the quality of that host.

The host has the role of moderator, the role of curiosity and question driver, and the general job of holding the show together.

So picking a good host for your podcast is quite key.

I encourage people to think about four key areas to pick the perfect host for your podcast show.

EP178 How to find the bandwidth to repurpose your content into a podcast

August 10, 2022 by cpdigital

This is the third in a series about how to take your current properties – webinars, masterclasses, bootcamps etc – that may have decreased in their audience, and repurpose them into a podcast.

We first dealt with the resistances that we often hear about repurposing content in general and specifically for this kind of content.

Then we showed you how to take a 60 minute webinar or masterclass and break it down into a minimum of 10-12 pieces of content.

The third part of the equation is how to find the bandwidth to take that content and intelligently repurpose it into pieces of content that can continue to be consumed. Sort of like leveraging the evergreen nature of the material that you’ve already created.

EP177 How to turn your webinar into a batch of podcasts

July 27, 2022 by cpdigital

Today I want to talk about how to take the average 60 minute webinar or masterclass, or customer education piece or member facing content and repurpose it into podcasts.

I typically like to say that in the case of any piece of content that is an hour long, you should easily easily expect to have create 10 pieces of content from it. And specifically, from a podcast perspective, you can easily get three episodes of a podcast out of 160 minute piece of webinar content.

So let me walk you through what that looks like.  🎧Listen in 🎧

EP176 Overcoming resistances to repurposing your masterclass

July 13, 2022 by cpdigital

After 175 episodes, we took our first ever summer break, and now we’re back kicking things off with a bang and starting off a three-episode series on how to repurpose your webinar or masterclass that is now defunct or not functioning as well as it should, or maybe it’s a little bit outdated.

Today I specifically want to focus on the 3 resistances that people feel when you tell them to repurpose a piece of content, especially if it’s a large infrastructure piece of content, like a webinar or a masterclass.

1) Should this kind of quality content still be free and ungated?
2) “This feels wrong” –
if you put it out for free are you somehow dishonouring the people who did you the courtesy of giving you something in return for that content?
3) Is Google going to penalize you? Are people not going to hate you if you put the same thing everywhere??
