βοΈ Graphics or other images? βοΈFor us? Itβs our podcast. We literally call it *the content gift* that keeps on giving β itβs pure gold that we slice and dice in myriad ways to flood our funnels and keep those conversions happening!
(πππ *no gifs were harmed in the writing of this blog post* πππ)
In this weekβs 4 AM Report, we did a little refresher on how easy it is for you to achieve the kind of results we do with our long-form content. And you wonβt have to kill yourself β or hire a team of 20 β in order to do so.
Hereβs a bit of what we talked about!
Transcripts are GOLD
βRegardless of what type of episode it is, with a guest or just us, we get a transcript. You have a recorded audio file, then you get a transcript of some sort. That’s when the magic starts to happen. Then our writer will take that and create a few different pieces of social copy, because you’re not just putting out your podcast once you want to put it out a few times, saying some different things about it. Also, for your podcast, wherever it goes to live, we use Lipson as the hosting platform, you write up show notes – something like the social copy, but a little more in depth. The transcript in itself, bear in mind, because it’s artificially generated is going to have a lot of errors in it β donβt just copy and paste. Having said that, it is still an accessibility tool. For someone who isn’t able to hear your podcast. There’s the option to read it, as well as βsearch and find.β So, there’s SEO abilities, there’s accessibility attached to it.β
Snip and Clip your Audio
βYou have an audio file, and you want to take that and use it to the best of your ability, regardless of what hosting platform you choose. There are some ways you can grab snippets out, even if you’re DIY. Itβs simple. So, think about audio grams, a couple of audio grams at the minimum – one to act as sort of a sneak preview of the episode, one to serve as a quick recap, another as an βin case you missed itβ type-promo. Ideally, all three. Also, when you’re snipping up something like this, keep in mind, even if people only listen to these three little audio grams, could they get the gist of the episode, like the TLDR βtoo long didn’t readβ version of your podcast? Thatβs added value.β
Create a Blog Post (you are here π― π€£ π―)
βWe like to level-up the fun a bit in our blog posts, we embrace the gifs. It helps to add some texture and humour, something different. How far you can take it? The sky’s the limit, right, you can research associated topics, you can use it for cross linking and roundups of your own episodes, as well as other people’s episodes that you could easily be linking back to. So really stepping that up and practicing some of what we call the flywheel approach, improving it constantly and trying to get to a higher level of blogging. So that’s definitely something you want to think about. And don’t dismiss the visual aspect, pulling out a short snippet of your blog post and posting it along with a GIF, or, you know, coming up with an image that best represents it using the lead image of the blog that you’ve posted on your website, and having a little snippet under that. So really, you could do a whole lot there. Again, on the evolution scale, if you want to get a little bit more advanced, I suppose you could go to sliders and carousels and various things like that.β
There are many more tips and tricks in the actual episode, including Thirsty Thursdays, guest graphics, and so on! Hope you can have a listen.
