Always extra. Never basic.
Say hello to ‘Morticia’.
Here’s the backstory on how she relates to the way in which I craft my own voice 👇
‘Morticia’ was a name bestowed on me by my alumni colleagues at the last advertising agency I worked at. It began at an alter ego party, and stuck because of dark humour, and apparently, my seemingly easy ability to get people to do my bidding. (I was group account director at the time so there was a LOT of keeping people happy rolled into the job)
Over the years since then, I’ve looked back at that moniker and used Morticia as my alter ego regularly!
To say the things I may be too anxious to say.
To hide behind when my feelings were hurt and I had to mow on regardless.
To channel my best project management abilities.
Morticia is formidable. And I love her.
In 2018 I had this photo taken to immortalize my ‘Morticia’ spirit.
5 years later, I don’t have to hide behind Morticia as much.
But I’ll tell you what… without Morticia, there would be no UNboring.
No podcast.
No book.
Just a sad soul working at a high paying job and drowning her sorrows in more shoes she wouldn’t wear 🤷♀️
Is there a personification in your life that you can think of?
